According to Chopra, Shubman Gill might not receive a place in the squad because he is a similar type of player like KL Rahul. Nikhil Chopra mentioned that either Prithvi Shaw or Shikhar Dhawan could be the back-up options for the opening batter’s role in the mega event.

He pointed out that Shaw has a fantastic strike rate in the powerplay. Besides, every cricket fan knows that Shikhar Dhawan has a great record in the ICC events. Speaking on CricTracker’s ‘Not Just Cricket Show’, Nikhil Chopra gave his opinion and said:

“I think KL Rahul will definitely be there at the opening slot, and I expect Rohit to come well. I will not pick Shubman Gill, as I already have Rahul. My backup option would be Prithvi Shaw or Shikhar Dhawan. Shaw gives me the comfort of a strike rate of 150.”
