Ambati Rayudu played a vital role in the Chennai Super Kings‘ success over the last four seasons. The Chennai Super Kings signed him at the IPL Mega Auction in 2018, and he brought his ‘A’ game to the table for the franchise and helped the team win their third championship. He continued his good performances and became champion again with the Chennai Super Kings team in IPL 2021.
However, because of the IPL Auction 2022 rules, the Chennai Super Kings team management had to release Ambati Rayudu ahead of the IPL 2022 season. The Super Kings retained the quartet of MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali from their IPL 2021 championship winning team.
Rayudu, who is no longer a regular fixture in the Indian cricket team, spoke to PTI recently, where he discussed his future. The right-handed batter clarified that he has no intentions of retiring from the sport as he has been working hard on his fitness. The former Mumbai Indians star aims to play at least three more IPL seasons.
Ambati Rayudu says he would definitely love to play for Chennai Super Kings in the coming seasons
In an interview with PTI, Ambati Rayudu stated that he would love to don the yellow jersey again in his IPL career. Here’s what he had to say related to his role in CSK:
“…I would definitely love to play for CSK. Formally, there has not been any communication with me so far, But I am hoping to get picked by them and have a successful league again,” he said.
In the same interview, Rayudu also praised the Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. As per Rayudu, the skipper had a huge impact on his performance and also on the performance of each and every Chennai Super Kings player.
