Pavel Florin is one of the many cricketers who has filed his nomination to become a part of the upcoming Big Bash League overseas player draft. For the first time in BBL history, the competition will have a player draft, wherein the eight teams can sign players from different nations of the world.
Big names like Faf du Plessis, Rashid Khan, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi have applied for this draft. Fans expect some big signings, and there could be a surprise in store for all of them as Pavel Florin has filled his nomination form as well.
In case you did not know, Florin went viral on social media after his bowling style in ECS series captured everyone’s attention. He bowled a very much flighted delivery which is not a normal sight in cricket matches. Sharing the screenshot of his nomination form on Twitter, Pavel wrote:

Pavel Florin made his T20 international debut for Romania at the age of 39
While 39 is the age where most of the international cricketers think of retiring, Pavel Florin made his T20I debut for Romania in 2019 at the age of 39. His first appearance came in a match against Austria. Since then, he has played 16 T20I matches for the Romanian cricket team.
He even went to England in 2019 to seek opportunities in club cricket. Here’s what he said in an interview with The Guardian in 2019:
“Many agents came to me saying they I could do this or that and get some money But it wasn’t about the cricket.. This is why I came alone, I want to try to speak with people, and see how they manage.” He laughs. “This is espionage!”
It will be interesting to see if Pavel Florin manages to earn a contract in the Big Bash League.
