The IPL 2024 has reached the half-way stage. All teams have played half of their matches in the group stage. The defending champion Chennai Super Kings are among the top four. Rajasthan Royals are at the top, and KKR and SRH are also in the mix.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru are at the bottom with only two points on the board. Punjab Kings are 9th on the table, and Delhi Capitals are 8th with six points. The three teams that have never won an IPL title are at the bottom of the table. So what are they lacking?
Former CSK star and famously known as “Mr. IPL,” Suresh Raina comes up with a dig on these teams. In an interview with Lallantop, he spoke about why CSK is the most successful team. Raina was part of CSK until 2021 and won them numerous games single-handedly.
Talking about CSK, Raina said that they never party, which is why they are successful in the IPL. Adding to that, he indirectly targeted RCB, DC, and PBKS and said, “2–3 teams who partied have not won the IPL yet.” Though when asked by the interviewer what he was saying about RCB, Raina said, “No, there are a few teams who haven’t won; they must have partied hard.”
He also said that when you are playing the game and doing parties late at night before the game, how could you win? Furthermore, Raina also lauded Mumbai Indians and said that they also have the same culture as CSK and don’t party late nights.
Though many fans won’t agree with Raina but that might have given him success in his own international and IPL career. He was part of India’s 2011 World Cup win. With CSK, he won four titles and two Champions League titles as well.
