But it seems like that the Pakistan pace bowling leader Mohammad Amir is set for a return as he looks to come out of retirement. Amir returning to international cricket is a big positive for Pakistan cricket as the team gears up for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

After retiring from the International cricket, Mohammad Amir has been playing in franchise leagues around the world. He also played in the inaugural edition of the The Hundred for the London Spirit and is currently playing in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2021 (CPL 2021) for the Barbados Royals team. The Pakistani pacer is in prolific form in the CPL 2021 having picked up 6 wickets in the 4 matches that he has played.

Mohammad Amir sudden retirement

Amir announced his retirement in December 2020 when he was just 28 years old and had a lot more cricket left in him. Many believed that the reason behind the Pakistani pacers decision is that he wants to take English citizenship and play for the England cricket team, however, nothing like that happened.

And, according to various reports in Pakistan, the main reason behind the Amir’s decision was the Pakistan head coach Misbah Ul Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis. Later, the pacer even admitted that.

As per a report on Daily Pakistan, the reason for the surprise return for Amir could very well be head coach Misbah Ul Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis stepping down from their individual role in Pakistan team. Ramiz Raja has also been brought in as the new director in Pakistan cricket board.

Yesterday, the Pakistan selectors announced the team that will participate in the upcoming T20 World Cup as well as series against New Zealand and England. However, due to Mohammad Amir not confirming his return before the team announcement, the pacer has not been included, but can still be included into the team.
