T20 World Cup 2024 is all set to happen in the West Indies and United States next year. The official logo for the mega event was revealed by ICC earlier today. Unlike the recent editions of the T20 World Cup, the ICC has opted for a trendier logo with a zig zag touch to the T20 text written in the style of a bat.
USA team will make its debut at the T20 World Cup next year. Many fans would know that USA Cricket has been recruiting dropped players from top-tier nations in the last few years. Here is the predicted playing XI of USA for the mega event.
Openers of USA for T20 World Cup 2024 – Sami Aslam and Unmukt Chand
The Indo-Pak pair of Sami Aslam and Unmukt Chand should open the batting for America. It will be a left hand-right hand combination. Aslam has represented Pakistan at the senior level, while Chand is a former India U-19 World Cup winning captain.
Middle Order – Jaskaran Malhotra, Monank Patel (c), Nisarg Patel, Corey Anderson and Dane Piedt
The middle-order will feature hard-hitting batters Jaskaran Malhotra and Corey Anderson along with captain and wicketkeeper Monank Patel. Experienced players like Nisarg Patel and Dane Piedt will also be a part of the team.
Anderson is a former New Zealand all-rounder. He is best-remembered for his performance for Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
Bowlers – Saurabh Netravalkar, Cameron Stevenson, Rusty Theron and Ehsan Adil
The all-pace attack of USA will feature four bowlers from different nations. Saurabh Netravalkar was a part of the India U-19 team in 2010. Cameron Stevenson is a fast bowler from Australia, while Rusty Theron has represented South Africa in the international arena before. Ehsan Adil is a former Pakistan bowler, who also played in the 2015 Cricket World Cup.
