Team India and Sri Lanka is currently playing a 2 match Test series in India as part of the World Test Championship 2021-2023. The second and final match of the Test series is currently being played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, where Team India sits at the front gear to win the match and seal the series 2-0.

While Team India is preparing a whitewash over the Lankan lions, Sri Lankan pace bowler Suranga Lakmal is playing his last series as the pacer will retire from the beautiful game after the series.

Suranga Lakmal, who has been playing for Sri Lankan national team for many years, has already announced that he will not play international cricket after the India tour. However, the series hasn’t turned out to be good farewell for the pacer, as Sri Lanka is likely to concede a 2-0 whitewash.

But Suranga Lakmal got the honor on the second day of the Day-Night Test match being played in Bangalore, which he will always remember in his career. During the second day’s play, Suranga Lakmal was congratulated by India’s head coach Rahul Dravid and former captain Virat Kohli.

Sri Lanka’s team returned to the pavilion after bowling in the second innings, then after that, a video was captured with Indian team’s Head Coach Rahul Dravid and former skipper Virat Kohli visiting the Sri Lankan pavilion to congratulate and wish him all the best for his future post retirement.

The video was shared by the BCCI on their social media account. It was a heartwarming moment for not only Suranga Lakmal, but also for the fans of both the teams.

Talking about the Sri Lankan fast bowler, he made international debut in 2009 in the ODI format, and in 2010 he got his first Test cap. Lakmal has so far taken 170 wickets in 69 Tests, while in ODIs he has taken 109 wickets in 86 matches. Apart from this, he has taken 8 wickets in 11 T20 International matches.
