Sultan of Bengal that’s how former India head coach Ravi Shastri greeted Mohammad Shami for his performance against South Africa in the 1st Test and completing his 200th Test wicket.

Including the former Indian cricket team’s Head Coach Ravi Shastri, other cricket experts and analyst also praised the Bengal Cricketer for taking 200 wickets in his Testsl career.

After touching milestones in his Test career, Shami remembered the difficult struggles of his childhood. Most interestingly, Mohammed Shami got his 100th and 200th Test wicket at Centurion against South Africa itself, isn’t that interesting.

Mohammad Shami has taken 62 wickets in 32 innings in 16 Test matches on home soil. He has also taken 138 wickets in 39 Tests while touring other countries (including the final of the ICC World Test Championship in England as a neutral venue). He took 200 Test wickets in the 55th Test match of his career.

Mohammed Shami’s Test wicket distribution Country-wise

Mohammed Shami, who plays domestic cricket for Bengal, has picked up 36 wickets in 12 Tests in England, 15 wickets in 4 Tests in New Zealand, 26 wickets in 6 Tests in South Africa, 10 wickets in 3 Tests in Sri Lanka and 20 wickets in 6 Tests in the West Indies. He has also done wonderful performance in Australia, where he has 31 wickets from 8 matches.

2018 was the best year for Shami in his Test career. He took 47 wickets in 12 Tests. Shami has done wonderfully for India with the ball in hand, whether it is the Red Ball or the White Ball.
