Ravindra Jadeja drops a hint suggesting he won’t retire from Tests
Injuries have been a problem for Ravindra Jadeja in the last year or so. He missed a few games against Australia at the end of last year. Then, he missed the home series against England, which was won by India. Recently, he could not take part in the second Test against New Zealand in Mumbai due to a forearm injury. He has also been ruled out of the tour of South Africa.
Hence, a few outlets started writing reports that Jaddu was considering retirement from Tests. However, the all-rounder has come out today and through two posts on his social media handle, he has all but confirmed that he won’t retire from the five-day format. Here is a look at the two posts:

Jaddu has an important role in Team India across formats
In the last few years, Jaddu has been important to Team India in all formats. His batting has improved and this has rendered balance to the squad in all the formats. Especially in Tests, in overseas conditions, it is due to Jadeja that India has been able to play four pacers. This has helped India to do well in England and Australia.
The Saurashtra cricketer is only 33-years-old and there is still a long way to go in his career. In subcontinent conditions, India needs to play three spinners and without Jaddu, it would be hard to strike the right balance. Hence, it is important that he does not quit the red-ball format.
