The Indian cricket team kicked-off its ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign today at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai where they faced off against Pat Cummins led Australian cricket team.

It was the Australia captain who won the toss and opted to bat first. However, they faced a early setback as Mitchell Marsh departed early. David Warner and Steve Smith formed a great partnership after that as they added 69 runs for the 2nd wicket before Warner was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav.

Smith and Marnus Labuschagne were once again building the inning for Australia, but then came Ravindra Jadeja, who plays for the Chennai based Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL.

Jadeja got the wicket of both Smith and Labuschagne and also got the wicket of wicketkeeper batter Alex Carey. Jadeja ended his 10 overs spell today with 3 wickets to his name and gave away only just 28 runs.

Meanwhile, talking during the post inning with the broadcaster Star Sports, Ravindra Jadeja expressed his views on his brilliant performance. He mentioned about how playing for the CSK helped him today.

“I play for Chennai Super Kings, so I know the conditions really well. The Chennai crowd always supports their cricket, they come in good numbers,” said the experienced left-arm spin bowler.
