Revealed: Full List of 20 Teams that Qualified for the T20 W0rld Cup 2024

The next big ICC event will take place in 2024. The USA and West Indies will be the co-hosts of the tournament, which will start on June 4 and end on June 30. A total of 20 teams will be taking part in the upcoming event.

England, which won the last edition by beating Pakistan in the final of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, will defend their title. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has made it more grand, unlike the last edition. Now, a total of 20 teams will be taking part in the competition.

Five teams each will be divided into four groups. Two top teams from each group will qualify for the Super 8. In the Super 8 stage, there will be two groups of four teams, and two teams from those groups will make it to the semi-finals of the tournament.

T20 World Cup 2024: Qualification Scenario

As a host, both the USA and the West Indies made to the competition directly. Then, the top eight teams from the last edition in Australia also qualified for the competition. Those 8 teams were Australia, England (winner), India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and Sri Lanka.

Afghanistan and Bangladesh qualified on the basis of the ICC T20 team rankings as of November 14, 2022. These two teams couldn’t finish in top 8 of the T20 WC 2022. Ireland and Scotland qualified through the Europe Qualifier 2023. Papua New Guinea made it through the East Asia-Pacific Qualifier 2023, which was played in July.

The Americas Qualifier 2023 saw Canada come out victorious and seal a place in the T20 World Cup 2024. The Asia and Africa qualifiers had two places each. Nepal and Oman made it through the Asia region, while Namibia and Uganda made it through the African region.
