“I don’t care who the experts are” – Rohit Sharma hits back at critics in defence of struggling Virat Kohli

The trouble continues for the former India captain Virat Kohli after the right-hand batsman was dismissed for 11 runs in chase of 216 runs. However, current captain Rohit Sharma has backed the former skipper has criticised a the critics for their opinion on Kohli’s form over the time.

The Indian cricket team suffered a defeat in the 3rd and the final T20I of the 3 match series. However, the Men in Blue had already sealed the series with back-to-back 2 wins in the first 2 matches.

While India continue to display its dominance in world cricket, former India captain Virat Kohli continues to struggle with his form. The batter is absolutely unable to put-up a big score beside his name. He was dismissed for 11 runs from 6 balls in the 3rd T20I. However, he looked in good touch in that small inning though, scoring a back-to-back 4 and 6 runs on the previous 2 balls before he got dismissed.

Kohli received further criticism from the experts, many recommending even to drop the out-of-form batsman. However, captain Rohit Sharma has backed Kohli and instead hit back on the experts.

While talking to the press after the 3rd T20I in Nottingham, Rohit Sharma stated that the team doesn’t listen to the outside noise. He said he don’t care who the experts are talking about Kohli’s form, but added that he doesn’t who why are they called experts when they don’t know what’s going on inside.

“I don’t know who the experts are. I don’t even understand why they are called experts. They are watching it from the outside, they don’t know what is going on inside,” said Rohit.

He added that they are building a team and there is a lot of thought process behind that. He further added that form doesn’t matter, the quality of the player matters. “If you talk of form, it goes up and down for everyone. The quality of a player never goes down and we should remember that,” he added.
