The Indian cricket team’s newly appointed limited overs captain Rohit Sharma has heaped praise for his wife Ritika Sajdeh for her constant support throughout his cricket career.

Rohit Sharma, the 34-year-old opening batsman for the Indian cricket team, was named the new captain of the Indian team for the One Day (ODI) cricket, meaning that he has now completely been made the Indian team captain for the limited overs cricket.

Rohit was named the captain of the Indian team for the T20I format last month, after Virat Kohli decided to step down as the captain. And now most recently, on Wednesday 8th December, the right-hand batsman was been appointed the captain for the ODI format as well.

Rohit Sharma praised his wife Ritika Sajdeh

While speaking to journalist Boria Majumdar on his show Backstage with Boria, Rohit Sharma heaped praise on his wife for her role in leading Rohit to success.

Rohit stated that Ritika Sajdeh is his number 1 support system and she stood beside him like a rock during his difficult times.

He continued that Ritika Sajdeh takes all the responsibilities of house and that allows the prolific batsman to focus on his performance.

He also mentioned about his daughter and how Ritika takes care of her. He added that whenever he gets back home, his one and only priority is to give time to his family.

Rohit Sharma is born a natural leader, as the right-hand batsman has led the Mumbai Indians team to 5 IPL Trophies in his stint as captain. He has also numerous trophies with the Indian team, while taking over as stand in captain for some tournaments of series.

India vs South Africa Series

At the moment, he is gearing up along with the team for the upcoming South Africa series that will see the Men in Blues play 3 Test matches and as matches One Day Internationals (ODI) matches. The series begins on the 26th of December, known as the Boxing Day.
