He highlighted the importance of adaptability, citing his 101-ball 87 against England when he adjusted his game after India’s early wickets.

Before the World Cup, Rohit had planned for various scenarios, emphasizing the need for flexibility. As an experienced player, he understands the importance of adapting quickly to different situations for the team’s benefit.

“For me what’s important is because I start the innings, there’s a bit of freedom to go and express myself. But in that game against England I had to change my game a bit once we lost a few wickets. I’m prepared to do that as well,” Rohit Sharma said during the pre-match press conference.

“That’s what the experienced player needs to do. You can’t just think you have to play one way. You have to adapt quickly knowing the situations that are there in front of you. I’m prepared to do whatever I feel is right for the team,” he further added.

Rohit, who starts the innings, values the freedom to express himself but emphasized his readiness to alter his approach based on the team’s requirements. He underlined the significance of experienced players being versatile and adapting to the dynamic nature of the game.

When asked about India’s aura akin to Australia’s dominant 2003 side, Rohit chose not to speculate, maintaining focus on the upcoming final. Australia’s resilience, rebounding from two initial losses to reach the title clash, adds anticipation to the showdown at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
