His cramps were so severe that he resorted to clearing the boundary without running between the wickets. This partnership, a record-breaking 202-run with Pat Cummins, became the highest for the 8th wicket in ODI history.
Maxwell’s sensational innings not only secured a thrilling three-wicket victory over Afghanistan but also guaranteed Australia’s spot in the World Cup semi-finals. This achievement marked the fastest double century in World Cup history and the first time a player had achieved a double hundred in an ODI run chase.
