The 2 match T20I series between Ireland cricket team and the Indian cricket team is going to start from 26th June, to be played in Dublin. All the senior players of the team have been rested for this series as they are preparing for the upcoming series against England, meanwhile some young players have been included into the team for the series.
Many people are speculating that all-rounder Deepak Hooda can be given an opportunity in the series. With this, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar believes that this series can be very memorable and the is the right one for Deepak Hooda.
Let us tell you, Deepak Hooda did had an amazing season in the IPL 2022 and took Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to the playoffs. The all-rounder played according to the conditions of the match in IPL 2022 and when the team needed it, he also was capable playing big shots. Hooda scored 451 runs in this season, including 4 half-centuries.
Along with batting, Hooda can also perform well with the ball. On the other hand, Sanjay Manjrekar hopes that even if he did not get a chance in the South Africa series, the Indian team can include him in the playing XI in the Ireland series. Manjrekar has said that Deepak Hooda has impressed everyone with his performance in this IPL season and his inclusion could very well mean pressure off the shoulders of the experienced ones like Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik.
Sanjay Manjrekar said on a special show on Sony Sports that he has a feeling that Hooda will play against Ireland. “I am expecting him to get a look in this (Ireland) series because I thought we saw the best of Deepak Hooda in this last IPL,” said Manjrekar.
He further added, “Both Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant had a disappointing performance (vs South Africa). But if you get Deepak Hooda in the middle-order then the pressure on Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik will be relieved.”
