Sanju Samson posted a six-word message on his Instagram account after the Indian cricket team was spotted practicing in front of his poster in Kerala. The Indian World Cup squad traveled to Trivandrum for a warm-up match against the Netherlands cricket team at the Greenfield International Stadium.
However, the rain interrupted the proceedings, and the match had to be abandoned eventually. Samson is not a part of the squad, but a poster of his face is present at the Greenfield International Stadium in Trivandrum. A photo of the Indian cricketers working hard in the nets at the Greenfield International Stadium, with Samson’s poster in the background has gone viral on social media.
Sanju also noticed it. He decided to share it on his Instagram profile, with the following caption:
“With Team India @ Gods own country !!”
Samson is not a part of the World Cup squad right now, but he was a reserve player for the Asia Cup 2023 event which happened last month. It was a sign from the chief selector Ajit Agarkar that if needed, they will consider adding Samson to the squad later in the mega event.

Despite being the captain of the Rajasthan Royals team, Samson missed out on a place in the Asian Games 2023 squad for the T20I tournament, which is happening right now. The Indian team management named the squad well in advance. Ruturaj Gaikwad was selected as the captain of that team, with Jitesh Sharma being the primary wicketkeeper.
It was a sign that the selectors were considering Samson for the World Cup. In the end, Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul beat him for a place in the squad as the wicketkeeper batters. Nevertheless, Samson has said that he will continue to work hard. He has a massive fanbase, and they have been behind him no matter what.
