On August 31st, Dale Steyn announced his retirement from all forms of the game. It was the end of an era that saw some remarkable fast bowling. Steyn’s colleagues poured wishes, and it is after he announced his retirement that Shane Warne listed the all-time Top 10 fast bowlers in the history of the game. However, this list did not include any Indian cricketers.

Shane Warne Lists All-Time Top 10 Fast Bowlers

Shane Warne is himself a legend of the game and the best spinner who has emerged from outside the subcontinent. Despite playing mostly on Australian pitches, Warne picked loads of wickets with his leg-spin. In his era, too, there were plenty of pacers who were at the top of their game. Along with them and those who became before and after him, Warne compiled his list of the all-time Top 10 fast bowlers. Here is how it goes:

Along with three Australians and representations from England, West Indies, and South Africa, Shane Warne revealed his list of the Top 10 pacers in the game. His list included Pakistani left-arm bowler Wasim Akram. Recent retiree Dale Steyn is also a part of the list.

The Aussie legend does not include any Indian players

Although Warne’s list looked justified from his end, a few fans pointed that there were no Indian players included in the list. India is traditionally known to produce good spinners, and even statistics prove the same. However, very often, a few brilliant fast-arm bowlers have represented Team India.

While the likes of Kapil Dev, Javagal Srinath and Zaheer Khan are examples from the past, players like Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma are the options from the present. At the moment, India’s fast bowling unit is impressive and has been one of the main reasons why the squad has started winning games abroad.
