The Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma is currently leading the nation for the first time ever in a pink-ball Test. The day/night Test between the Indian cricket team and the Sri Lankan cricket team is currently underway at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Sharma won the toss and decided to have a bat first in the pink-ball game.

The Sri Lankan side had a tough time dismissing the Indian batters in the first Test at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. However, the pitch in Bengaluru is tougher for batting, which is why the home side got skittled out for 252 runs on the opening day of the day/night Test match.

Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma opened the innings for the Indian cricket team. Local boy Agarwal was expected to play a big knock, but he unluckily got run out off a no-ball, whereas his opening partner Sharma looked in decent touch. The Indian cricket team captain scored 15 runs off 25 deliveries, including one six.

Unfortunately, that six from Sharma’s bat hit a fan who was watching the match live at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. According to reports, that fan was taken to a hospital for an X-ray. Incidentally, nine years ago, during IPL 2013, a similar incident had happened.

Rohit Sharma apologized to that fan on Twitter after the match

Soon after the incident, Sharma took to Twitter to say sorry to that fan. Here’s what he tweeted, and that tweet has resurfaced now after the recent incident.

“To the guy who got hit on the nose by my six, SORRY buddy!! Hope you’re doing okay!”

It will be interesting to see if Sharma can win his first Test series 2-0 as the Indian cricket team captain. Sri Lanka are 14/2 after 4.1 overs.
