South Africa cricket team’s limited overs captain Temba Bavuma has made a big statement about playing in the cash rich league IPL. According to Bavuma, one day he not only wants to play in the biggest T20 league in the world, but also wants to captain a team.

Indian Premier League (IPL), founded in the year 2008, has grown to be one of the most exciting and challenging T20 cricket league in the world. Players from around the world competes in the league, while many aspire to play, but could not make it, one of them is South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma.

Bavuma is currently leading the South African team in the upcoming India vs South Africa 5 match T20I series. And before that, the Proteas has made a big claim about wanting to play in the IPL.

Temba Bavuma expressed his desire to play in the IPL and at the same time he also wants to captain a team in the tournament. Talking to The Cricket Monthly, he said that he wants to play in the IPL, but he know that the more he will perform, the more chances will be there to play. He also added that he also desire to captain an IPL team.

“I would like to play there. The stronger my performance, the more realistic the opportunity becomes. I’ve also developed this fantasy of captaining a team,” said Bavuma.

He also reacted to the Proteas players playing in the IPL. Many great players from South Africa play in IPL, such as Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis, Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jansen and David Miller have been a part of IPL for long and have achieved a lot of success in the IPL.

South Africa team is currently on a tour of India, where they have to play a five-match T20 series. Temba Bavuma can present his claim for IPL by performing tremendously in this series.

The series commences on the 9th of June with the first T20I set to take place in Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. The following 4 matches will take place on the 12th, 14th, 17th and 19th June in Cuttack, Vishakhapatnam, Rajkot and Bengaluru respectively.
