The Sri Lankan star has not played in the IPL since 2016. His last IPL appearance came for the Rising Pune Supergiants team, where MS Dhoni was his captain. Interestingly, he did not consider any of the Sri Lankan players worth enough to make it to his all-time T20 XI. Not even the death overs specialist Lasith Malinga earned a place, as Perera went for three fast bowlers namely Shaun Tait, Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell Starc.

Speaking of his all-time XI, he started with the destructive duo of Chris Gayle and Rohit Sharma. They are two players who can single-handedly win matches for their teams once they get going. They also provide the team with a left hand-right hand combination at the top.

The middle-order comprises former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli and former South African captain AB de Villiers. They won many matches together while playing for the Bangalore-based franchise in the IPL. Unfortunately, fans will not be able to witness them together now as AB de Villiers has retired from the IPL.

The two finishers of the team were MS Dhoni and David Miller, while the two spin-bowling options of the team were Rashid Khan and Sunil Narine. Both have troubled the batters over the last few years in the shortest format of the game. They are very economical with the ball. Overall, the team looks excellent and has the ability to win in any T20 match.

All-Time T20 XI of Thisara Perera:

Chris Gayle, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, David Miller, MS Dhoni (C), Rashid Khan, Sunil Narine, Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell Starc and Shaun Tait.
