Former Chennai Super Kings batter Subramaniam Badrinath has received a lot of backlash on social media after he posted a meme featuring Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Badrinath said that the shot that Rohit played against Shaheen Afridi, where he got bowled out in Asia Cup 2023, was identical to a meme template shared by a friend on WhatsApp.
Rohit Sharma has struggled against left-arm pace bowlers early in the innings. In T20 World Cup 2021 and ICC Champions Trophy 2017 Final also, Sharma lost his wicket cheaply to left-arm fast bowlers of Pakistan. Shaheen Afridi opened the bowling for Pakistan today. While Rohit looked focused at the start and tackled his left-arm pace decently, things changed after the rain break.
When play resumed after a rain break in Pallekele, Rohit looked a little tentative once again. He chopped a delivery from Shaheen onto his stumps. After the Indian innings ended, former Indian and Chennai Super Kings batter S Badrinath took to Twitter to share a meme which was shared by one of his friends on his WhatsApp.

When a Twitter user asked him for credits, Badrinath replied:
“Got it from a friend in WhatsApp.”
