It has been a fascinating end to what could be a rapid test match between South Africa and India at Newlands in Centurion. The result came out in just four and half sessions, and it was one of the rarest tests to end within five sessions.

This game ended in 642 balls, which is the shortest completed match in the history of Test Cricket. It is now officially registered as the shortest test match ever in the 150+ years of history. On the other hand, this win also helped India to jump to the top of the table in the ongoing World Test Championship.

With 54.17 percentage, India are at the top of the WTC table. South Africa slipped to 5th place. Team India will now host England for a five-match test series at home. The first test will start in Hyderabad on January 26. It was the last game for Dean Elgar, as he announced his retirement ahead of the series. He along with Jasprit Bumrah won the Man of the Series.
