The inaugural edition of the US Masters T10 League was a very interesting competition in the United States of America (USA) after the success of the Major League Cricket (MLC) most recently.
The US Masters T10 League saw some top cricketer, retired or active, grace the league and entertain the US citizens through cricket, which is currently a developing sport in the country.
The US Masters T10 League’s inaugural season was played with a total of 6 teams. They are New Jersey Legends, Atlanta Riders, Morrisville Unity, Texas Chargers, California Knights and New York Warriors.
The league stage of the tournament was played over 21 matches. At the end of the league stage of the tournament, New York Warriors finished at the top of the points table while California Knights finished 2nd. Texas Chargers and Morrisville Unity finished 3rd and 4th respectively.
In the qualifier 1 of the playoffs, thanks to brilliant batting performance from both Richard Levi and Misbah-ul-Haq, New York Warriors comfortably beat California Knights.
In the eliminator, Mukhtar Ahmed and Mohammad Hafeez led the Texas Chargers to the qualifier 2 where they faced qualifier 1 loser California. Once again both Mukhtar and Hafeez were the star for their team as Texas Chargers chased down the target of 140 runs with 7 wicket still remaining.
With that win for the Texas Chargers, they will now take on New York Warriors in the grand final of the inaugural of season of the US Masters T10 League, where former Pakistan captains Misbah-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez will square off for the Trophy, the ultimate prize.
