Indian women’s cricket team’s rising star Jemimah Rodrigues recalled her meeting with Virat Kohli at a cafe in New Zealand. Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana were in the same hotel as Kohli during their tour of New Zealand, so the two Indian women’s players asked if they can meet.
Kohli agreed and called them to a cafe, where his wife Anushka Sharma was also there. Initially, Jemimah Rodrigues thought they would chat for only a few minutes, but they ended up speaking for four hours. She shared the details of the conversation and said that only 30 minutes they discussed about batting, while the rest of the time they spoke about other things.
Both Rodrigues and Mandhana are among the top batters in women’s cricket, while Virat Kohli is reckoned by many as the number one batter in men’s cricket. Many youngsters have shared stories of meeting Kohli and praising his humble approach. Similarly, Jemimah shared her story during her appearance on The Ranveer Show.
“We (I and Smriti Mandhana) had asked him ‘we want to speak to you Virat bhaiya about batting. Can we meet?’. He was like ‘yeah sure, come’. So he called us at the cafe and Anushka Sharma was also there. We had asked him for just a few minutes but we ended up speaking for four hours,” said Jemimah Rodrigues.
