Team India is all set to start their next assignment against the Caribbean team. The Men in Blue are on tour of West Indies for a series in each of the three formats. This tour will kick off with two tests.

The first test will begin on Wednesday at Windsor Park in Dominica. This is the first time that India is playing a series after suffering a humiliating defeat against Australia in the final of the World Test Championship 2021-23 at the Oval last month.

India will look to kick off their next WTC campaign with a series win over the West Indies. The squad has some new faces, but all eyes will be on how the veterans will perform. Former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who has some good numbers against the West Indies, will look to have an impact in the series.

The 34-year-old is on the verge of three massive records if he does well in the first game. With 8479 runs in 109 Tests, Virat needs another 108 runs more in the first game to surpass Viv Richards and Virender Sehwag. Richards had 8540 runs, while Sehwag scored 8686 runs in test cricket.

On the other hand, Virat has currently scored 28 test centuries and 28 half-centuries. If he can score a hundred in the first test, he will equal the tally of legendary batter Sir Don Bradman’s 29-test century. He will also move up to the tenth spot with the most test hundreds in the red-ball format.

Adding to that, if Virat Kohli can score 150 runs in two innings of the first game, he will also surpass the former South African star Jacques Kallis with the fifth most runs in international cricket. Kallis scored 25534 runs in his career, while Virat has made 25385 runs in all three formats so far.
