Kohli, who scored 276 runs in five games, including his maiden T20I century, moved 14 spots up on the ICC T20I batter ranking. He is now at 15 position, making him the only Indian alongside Rohit Sharma to feature in the top 15.

On the other hand, Hasaranga was awarded the player of the tournament for picking up nine wickets in the tournament, out of which three were against Pakistan in the finals. As a result, he has seen a rise of three places on bowler ranking, taking him at No. 6. Moreover, he is now the fourth-ranked all-rounder, moving up seven names.

What does Virat Kohli’s form mean to India?

Well, Virat Kohli has been the talk of the town for some time now for his form with the bat. Questions were raised upon his role and position in the T20I side. The Asia Cup was a crucial event for the former Indian skipper to shut down critics and gain confidence ahead of India’s upcoming assignments.

Kohli’s form is a big relief for India as it provides the Men in Blue with some formidability in the middle-order. The right-handed batter is an expert of innings building and has the ability to accelerate towards the business end. It provides other batters with the luxury of expressing themselves out in the middle without fearing too much about the wickets.

This will surely help India’s shot at the T20 World Cup where they will be able to take fuller advantage of their star-studded batting unit. If Rohit Sharma’s side gain momentum in the early phase of the tournament, it will be very hard for other sides to put a break over their run.
