Reacting to this, Sehwag humorously commented, “Yeh zaroorat Cook ke jaane ke baad padhi. IPL mein nahi padegi. (This need arose after the departure of Cook but it won’t be needed in IPL),” on X.

The report suggests that England is the first cricket side to consistently tour with its own cook, raising eyebrows about potentially offending their hosts.

Former India batter Aakash Chopra also chimed in with a sarcastic remark, saying, “Good idea. I’m sure that the majority of English players must be bringing in their chefs for the IPL too… year after year. AS IF,” on X.

Expressing concern about England’s preparation, former pacer Steve Harmison, a close friend of Stokes, questioned the team’s decision to arrive in India just three days before the Test series, suggesting it could be a recipe for disaster and claiming that England might “deserve to get beaten 5-0.”

Team India and England cricket team will play a 5 match Test series starting from the 25th of January. The following matches will be played starting from 2nd February, 15th February, 23rd February and then the final Test match of the series will be played on the 7th of March.
