During a special appearance in the commentary box, the West Indies cricket legend expressed immense admiration for the Indian batsmen, singling out Virat Kohli.

Richards emphasized India’s fortune in having been bestowed with extraordinary batsmen throughout history, from Sunil Gavaskar to Sachin Tendulkar and now Virat Kohli. Specifically, he lauded Virat’s exceptional skill, highlighting his remarkable flicked six against Tim Southee, marveling at the audacity of such a shot against a fast bowler.

“India is blessed to have God-level batsmen from Sunil Gavaskar to Sachin Tendulkar to Virat Kohli. How can you hit like that against a fast bowler and just flick for Six,” said the former West Indies cricketer and legend.

The cricket icon, Richards, has consistently commended Virat’s talent, solidifying their mutual respect on the field.

Meanwhile, riding on both Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer’s centuries at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Team India have put a mammoth 397 runs on the board and have set 398 runs to chase down for the New Zealand team in the Semi-final 1 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

After Rohit departed, Kohli and Gill started to build the inning but the latter suffered a cramp and the team didn’t take any risk and called him. Meanwhile, KL Rahul also played an explosive inning of 39 runs of 20 balls deposite suffering early on in the first 6-7 balls.
