The ODI World Cup is just a few months away from now. The 13th edition of the biggest cricket tournament will start with a match between last edition’s finalists. It will be England taking on New Zealand on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Team India will start their campaign on October 8 against Australia in Chennai.

Then, the blockbuster game between India and Pakistan will take place on October 15 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With not much time left, the Indian management will look to finalize the set of players who will represent India in the mega event.

India hasn’t won an ICC trophy in more than a decade. They won the last tournament in 2013 under MS Dhoni, when he led the country to a Champions Trophy win. But since then, India has struggled to win knockout games and has lost many chances to win an ICC tournament.

That’s why the upcoming tournament is very important, as India has a great chance to end the trophy drought at home. All eyes will be on the hosts and how they perform. In a discussion on Jio Cinema, former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer named his preferred 15-member squad and playing XI for the marquee event in India.
