Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer had a befitting reply to Australia media who compared both Virat Kohli and Mitchell Starc batting performance from 2019.

It is no doubt that Indian cricket team’s Red Ball captain Virat Kohli is struggling to perform at his serious best form from the last couple of months. The last time that Virat Kohli scored a century was in 2019 against Bangladesh during the Day/Night Test match against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens.

Virat Kohli’s average in Test cricket in the last two years is really low compared to his all time Test average. Taking it as an opportunity, an Australian media posted a photo in Twitter comparing Virat Kohli with Mitchell Starc’s batting average in Test cricket from 2019.

After having seen it, former Indian cricketer and opening batsman Wasim Jaffer couldn’t himself calm and replied to that post.

In a tweet of his own, Wasim Jaffer compared the ODI career batting average of Australia’s Steve Smith and India’s Navdeep Saini.

With bad of run of form in theast couple of years, Virat Kohli decided to step down as both Royal Challengers Bangalore and India T20I side’s captain after IPL and T20 World Cup 2021 respectively.

After which, he batsman was stripped off his ODI captaincy and Rohit Sharma was named the new captain in both the ODI and T20I, while Virat Kohli was retained as Test captain.

India vs South Africa Test Series

Team India is currently away in South Africa playing a 3 match Test series. Kohli missed out on the 2nd match of the series due to back injury and KL Rahul was named the stand-in captain for the match.

Team India lost the match after South Africa’s captain Dean Elgar played a brilliant knock. As a result of which, the series is now level on 1-1 after 2 matches. India had earlier won the 1st Test match to take the lead in the series.
