The 2021-22 edition of the Big Bash League is currently underway in Australia. BBL 2021 features eight teams, namely the Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunder, Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades, Perth Scorchers, Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes.
The first match of BBL 2021 happened earlier this month on December 5, where the defending champions Sydney Sixers met the Melbourne Stars. It was a lop-sided game where the Sydney Sixers emerged victoriously comfortably. However, it was a 20-year-old Pakistani bowler who grabbed the top headlines from the match because of his bizarre bowling action.
Fans might have seen Paul Adams and Shivil Kaushik before. This action belongs to the same club. The bowler’s name is Syed Faridoun and he was born in Lahore. He is just 20 years old, but Syed has already earned a contract from the Melbourne Stars in BBL 2021.
Syed made his Big Bash League debut in the 2021-22 edition of the tournament against the Sydney Sixers. Although his action was unique, the Sydney batters managed to score 37 runs off his four overs. You can watch the video of his bowling action right here.

Sydney Sixers are currently number one in the BBL 2021 points table
All 8 teams have played a minimum of one match in the BBL 2021 season so far. The Sydney Sixers are currently at the top of the points table with four points to their name from two matches. Sydney Thunder, Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Renegades are the other teams who have opened their accounts. Brisbane Heat have lost both of their matches.
It will be interesting to see which team wins the BBL 2021 season. Sydney Sixers seem the favorites to win.
