On Friday, fans saw yet another remarkable batting display in the competition. But this time, it was not any batter but the veteran English all-rounder Chris Jordan who set the game on fire. The 34-year-old did some incredible hitting during the fifth game of the tournament.

It was the game between the Southern Brave and the Welsh Fire at The Rose Bowl in Southampton. Welsh won the toss and chose to bowl. The Southern Brave had a horrible start, and they lost their eight wickets for just 76 runs in 76 balls. But then came a storm from Jordan’s bat, who smashed an unbeaten 70 runs off just 32 balls, including three fours and seven sixes.

Jordan added an unbeaten 71 runs for the 9th wicket with Craig Overton (6 off 7). That cameo helped the team post a challenging score in the first inning, which resulted in a win for the team. Haris Rauf bowled well in the first innings for his 3/27.

Chasing the target, the Welsh Fire had some good contributions from their batting lineup. But they couldn’t finish the game for the team. In the end, the Welsh fell short by just two runs of the target and reached a total of 145/7 in their chase. Stephen Eskinazi (31) and David Willey (31) were the top scorers for them.
