Hardik Pandya started his captaincy tenure with a hat-trick of wins in IPL 2022. Leading the Gujarat Titans team, Pandya registered wins against the Lucknow Super Giants, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals. Until yesterday, GT were the only undefeated team in the tournament. However, their losing streak has now come to an end courtesy of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

SRH captain Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to bowl first. Despite a disappointing start from Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the first over, SRH managed to pull things back in the first innings as they restricted GT to 162/7 in 20 overs. A superb half-century from captain Kane Williamson helped the Hyderabad-based franchise win the match by eight wickets with five balls to spare.

Skipper Hardik Pandya felt that the Gujarat Titans could have given the Sunrisers Hyderabad a tougher fight had they scored 7 or 10 runs more in the first innings. Here’s what Pandya had to say after the match ended:

“I think batting-wise, maybe we were 7-10 runs short. Those 10 runs would have made a difference in the end. We had a good start with the ball but those two overs in the Powerplay brought them back into the game. Our motto has always been the same which is to learn from our mistakes whatever the result is.”

Hardik Pandya got angry on Mohammed Shami because he did not try for a catch

In the 13th over of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team, Rahul Tripathi played an upper cut off Hardik’s bowling. The ball went towards the third man region where Mohammed Shami was standing in the deep. It seemed like GT would dismiss Rahul, but Shami did not attempt for a catch and instead picked up the ball after it bounced once.

Here is the video of what happened, followed by Hardik’s angry reaction to it:
