The first ODI between India and the West Indies is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the first of three ODIs, which will take place at the Kensington Oval. After winning the test series 1-0, Rohit Sharma and his men will look to win the ODIs as well.

However, all eyes will be on the former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who ended a five-year overseas century drought in test cricket in the second test. He scored his 29th Test century in the second game and made 126. India will enter the game as favorites.

Ahead of the first ODI, a video is circulating on social media featuring Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli. In which Hardik is bowling at Virat during the net session. However, the former Indian captain was caught mocking the all-rounder after playing one of his balls at the net. In the video, Virat is seen making a funny boundary signal after playing the ball.

Notably, this will be the only ODI series for the Indians before locking horns with Pakistan on September 2 at the Asia Cup 2023. Virat showed some good form in the test series and scored 197 runs at an average of 97.50. He will look to carry his form into the ODIs.

Meanwhile, the former Indian captain is on the verge of breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s huge record. Virat has scored 12898 runs in 265 ODI innings at an impressive average of 57.32. He has also scored 46 centuries and 65 half-centuries. Virat needs another 102 runs to complete 13,000 ODI runs in his career.

If he can do that in the first ODI, then he will become the fastest batter to do so. Sachin is the fastest batter with 321 innings, while Virat has played only 265 innings so far. Thus, Virat will become the fastest and only the fifth batter to do so.
