Ravindra Jadeja has been an automatic pick for Team India over the past decade. His ability to contribute effectively in all three departments makes him an asset. He is an absolute match winner and a vital cog in the Indian setup.

However, India suffered a huge blow when their premium all-rounder was ruled out of the T20 World Cup. Jadeja sustained an injury and had to undergo surgery which made him unfit for the marquee event. This made life tougher for the Men in Blue as they need someone to fulfill that position.

Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has now come up with an alternative who could replace the 33-year-old in the prestigious tournament. In his interview with Dainik Jagran, he said that Jadeja is a world-class player and no one can replace him. However, Team India have an alternative in the form of Axar Patel who has been impressive so far.

“Jadeja is a world class bowler and he has been batting extremely well too. Injuries are part of the game and no one can take his place. But the way Axar Patel has been bowling, we have found one alternative. He has shown he can do it,” said Chahal.

It will be interesting to see if they can avenge their loss against the Men in Green in the last edition of the T20 World Cup in UAE.
