Fans had high hopes from the Pakistan vs. Australia ICC World Test Championship series. However, the lifeless pitch at the Pindi Cricket Stadium let everyone down as the opening game of the series ended in a draw. Only 14 wickets fell in the entire Test as almost all the bowlers had a forgettable outing.

After the match against Pakistan in Rawalpindi, Australian cricket team captain Pat Cummins had commented that the home side prepared a lifeless wicket so as to nullify the pace attack of the visitors. At a recent press conference ahead of the 2nd Test against Australia, Babar Azam was asked if his team was afraid of the Aussies.

“We’re not scared. of Australia. The conditions are the same for both teams. As a captain, I wanted us to win. The way our side dominated, we had batters score 150-plus and [bowlers] get wickets. So there’s nothing to panic about. We dominated,” replied Azam.
