This season started on December 7, and there will be a total of 44 matches in the season, including the final on January 24, 2023. With a number of T20 competitions growing and taking center stage, it is very important to be relevant in this race.

Hence, the BBL management wants to bring new things to the league. Thus, they have introduced a totally new concept of “electic stumps” in the league, which was used as a trial in the Women’s Big Bash League earlier. These stumps will flash different shades of light and colors to indicate the decision.

These decisions include a no-ball, a wicket, a boundary, or even the time out between overs. The electric wickets were introduced during the 11th game of the season between the Sydney Sixers and the Adelaide Strikers. Former English skipper Michael Vaughan and former Australian captain Mark Waugh introduced it before the start of the game.
