ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is just around the corner. Ahead of the biggest T20I event of 2022, the 16 participating nations have declared their squads for the mega tournament. 8 of them have earned a direct entry to the Super 12 round because of their positions on the ICC T20I Rankings for teams.
The other eight will have to play a qualifying round before earning a place in the Super 12. Speaking of the squads announced so far, all the 8 teams of the Super 12 have preferred a bunch of experienced players. Only 1 player is aged below 20 in the eight squads. Here’s a look at the youngest players from each T20 World Cup 2022 squad.
1. Youngest player of Australia in T20 World Cup 2022 – Tim David
Australia’s newest T20I player Tim David is also the youngest name present in the defending champions’ squad. The former Singapore player is 26 years and 169 days old.
2. England – Harry Brook
England’s rising star Harry Brook will be keen to make his mark at the upcoming T20 World Cup. The right-handed batter is 23 years and 192 days old.
3. South Africa – Tristan Stubbs
The youngest member in the South African squad is their backup wicketkeeping option, Tristan Stubbs. He is 22 years and 23 days old.
4. Youngest player of India in T20 World Cup 2022 – Arshdeep Singh
Inaugural champions India will be keen to win their second T20 World Cup title later this year. The team’s best bowler Arshdeep Singh is also the youngest, aged 23 years and 219 days.
5. Bangladesh – Hasan Mahmud
Bangladesh have named a fresh-looking squad for the upcoming mega event. Their youngest player is their right-handed batter and right-arm medium pacer Hasan Mahmud – 23 years and 337 days old.
6. Youngest player of Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2022- Naseem Shah
The only player who is yet to turn 20 but has earned a place in a Super 12 team’s WC squad is Naseem Shah. The right-arm fast bowler is just 19 years old.
7. Afghanistan – Mohammad Saleem
Afghanistan’s right-handed batter and right-arm fast bowler Mohammad Saleem is 20 years and six days old. He is one of the youngest players in the T20 World Cup.
8. Youngest player of New Zealand in T20 World Cup 2022 – Finn Allen
New Zealand’s top-order batter Finn Allen is their youngest player. The Royal Challengers Bangalore player is 23 years and 151 days old.
