MS Dhoni is one of the most successful captains in the history of the game. He is the only captain who has led a country to win the T20 World Cup, the ODI World Cup, and the Champions Trophy under his leadership. The turning point under his captaincy came when India lifted the 2007 T20 World Cup.

India sent a team of youngsters into the inaugural World Cup in South Africa, and MS Dhoni was the captain of the team. The team didn’t have big names, and not many gave India a chance. But it was some incredible individual performances and some brilliant decision-making by Dhoni that took India to glory.

The biggest decision was to hand the final over to Joginder Sharma in the 2007 T20 World Cup final against Pakistan. Harbhajan Singh had an over, and he was doing well. But Dhoni decided to give it to Joginder, and the rest is history.

Still, after 16 years of that win, many praised MS Dhoni for that smart move. However, the former Indian superstar Yuvraj Singh, who was one key member of India’s win, made a revelation in the latest Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast. He said that it was not Dhoni’s decision to give the last over to Joginder when Pakistan needed 13 runs to win.

He also added that Harbhajan suggested he do this. Yuvraj said, “Bhajji was supposed to bowl the last over. Dhoni went up to him and said that only you have to bowl. So, Bhajji replied, ‘I bowled to Misbah one over, and he hit me for 3 sixes, so go with Joginder.’ It was Harbhajan who gave that idea to him.”

Misbah hit a six off Joginder to put him under pressure. But then, he played a scoop shot to finish the game, but was caught at the fine leg by Sreesanth, and India won that World Cup.
