Yuzvendra Chahal heaped praise on Wanindu Hasaranga after he picked up three wickets in three overs for Royal Challengers Bangalore. The sixth match of IPL 2022 is currently underway in Mumbai, where the Kolkata Knight Riders are battling RCB. While KKR dominated the Chennai Super Kings in their first match, they have struggled against RCB so far.
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and invited the Kolkata Knight Riders to have a bat first at the DY Patil Stadium. In the previous match on this ground, RCB posted a 205-run total in the first innings which was chased by the Punjab Kings in 19 overs.
However, the Kolkata Knight Riders are 99/7 in 13 overs. The likes of Venkatesh Iyer, Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana and Sunil Narine failed to impress the fans as KKR’s top-order bowed down to the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers. Wanindu Hasaranga was the wrecker-in-chief with a three-wicket haul.
The Sri Lankan cricket team leg-spinner picked up the wickets of Shreyas Iyer, Sunil Narine and Sheldon Jackson to derail the Kolkata Knight Riders innings.
Yuzvendra Chahal reacted to Wanindu Hasaranga’s stupendous performance against Kolkata Knight Riders
Wanindu Hasaranga is the number one leg-spinner of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team in IPL 2022. Once upon a time, this position belonged to current Rajasthan Royals member Yuzvendra Chahal. To date, Chahal holds the record for the most wickets by a bowler for RCB in IPL history.
It was surprising to see the Royal Challengers Bangalore release him and not go after him at the mega auction. However, Yuzvendra Chahal is not unhappy with the franchise as he tweeted today:
