100th Test is a grand achievement for any cricketer playing at the international level. Playing 100 ODIs or 100 T20Is is simpler than playing 100 Test matches because the longest format of the game takes toll on the body. Also, not too many Tests happen in one year, so a player needs to have a long career to be able to play 100 Test matches in his life.
Earlier this year, former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli played the 100th Test of his career against the Sri Lankan cricket team in Mohali. The Indian team won that match, but Kohli could not score a century in that match. It is tough for any player to be focused on his game, especially when the entire world is talking about his achievements and celebrating his careers.
Many players have played 100 or more Test matches in their careers, but only two have been able to score a 200 in their 100th Test match. Here is a list of those two players.
1. David Warner scored 200 in his 100th Test match
Australian cricket team opener David Warner ended his drought of centuries in Test cricket in style with a magnificent double hundred in the ongoing second Test match against the South African cricket team. Warner aggregated 200 runs off 254 balls before retiring hurt.
Warner got a cramp while celebrating his double century in the Boxing Day Test against the South African cricket team, which forced him to head back to the dressing room.
2. Joe Root
While David Warner smashed a double century in his 100th Test playing on home soil, Joe Root accomplished the mega feat last year while playing against the Indian cricket team at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk.
Root scored 218 runs off 377 balls in the first innings of that Test match. His double hundred laid the platform for the England cricket team to record a memorable win in that match.
