Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have won the Indian Premier League (IPL) championship five times. The reason why CSK have been so successful is that they use their resources to perfection. Even if they do not sign the big names at the auction, they transform the players in their squad into extraordinary talents.

It is rare to see any CSK bowler being bashed in the league. In fact, CSK have been a part of the league since the year 2008, but in these 17 seasons, there have been only two bowlers who leaked more than 60 runs while donning the yellow jersey. Here’s a list of the two names.

    1. Lungi Ngidi has the most expensive figures by a CSK bowler in the IPL

South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi owns the dismal record for the most expensive figures in the Chennai Super Kings’ IPL history. Playing at the Arun Jaitley Stadium against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021, Ngidi went for 62 runs, which resulted in MI chasing down a mammoth 219-run target.

Ngidi bowled four overs and leaked 62 runs. His economy rate was more than 12 runs per over in that game. It will be interesting to see if this record will ever be broken.

    2. Shardul Thakur

Shardul Thakur became the first Indian bowler to leak 60+ runs while donning the yellow jersey in the IPL. Thakur achieved the dubious feat earlier today at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Thakur did manage to take the wickets of danger men Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell. Simarjeet Singh bowled a spell of 0/60 against Gujarat Titans, but Thakur broke his record with a spell of 2/61 in four overs.
