The first match of the series happened at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium on January 11. It was a memorable game for Team India as Shivam Dube’s half-century helped the Men in Blue record a win in Mohali. India now have an opportunity to go 2-0 up in the three-match series.

Although teams do not prefer to make changes after a win, India might make a couple of changes. Here’s a list of the two changes India might make for the 2nd T20I against Afghanistan.

    1. Virat Kohli will be back for the 2nd T20I of India vs Afghanistan series

Former Indian T20I captain Virat Kohli will be back in the squad for this match. Kohli was unavailable for the first T20I match due to personal reasons. Now that he has joined the squad, Kohli should walk into the playing XI. He will likely bat at number three, which means Tilak Varma, who had an ordinary outing in the first T20I might have to sit out.

    2. Yashasvi Jaiswal in for Shubman Gill

Before the series started, coach Rahul Dravid said at a press conference that the opening pair would be Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, Jaiswal got injured before the game and had to miss out. Shubman Gill opened in his absence.

If Jaiswal is fit, he should be a part of the playing XI now. He can take the place of Gill because India can have a right hand-left hand combination at the top then.
