The Indian team visited them last year as well for a two-match T20I series, where Hardik Pandya’s men emerged victorious. This year, Jasprit Bumrah will lead the Indian team in a two-match T20I series against the Irish squad.
Generally, fans notice that the top performers from the Irish team are offered a place in the England team, but in the upcoming series, two players born outside Ireland will be representing the Irish team. Here’s a list of the two players.
1. Ireland all-rounder Curtis Campher
Curtis Campher is one of the most experienced names present in the Irish squad for the upcoming T20I series. Campher is a right-arm medium-fast bowler and a right-handed batter. He has done a decent job as an all-rounder. While Campher plays for the Irish team, he was born in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Not many fans would know that Campher represented the Proteas at the U-19 level. He is now an all-format player for the Irish team.
2. Theo van Woerkom
New Zealand-born spinner Theo van Woerkom will don the Irish jersey in the upcoming series as well. Theo was born in Canterbury, Christchurch and represented the Northern Knights in New Zealand’s domestic tournaments. He is a left-arm spinner. It will be interesting to see if he makes his debut for Ireland in the upcoming series.
