Kochi Tuskers Kerala is one of the former franchises in the IPL. When IPL was expanded for the first time, along with Pune, the city of Pune also got an IPL franchise. However, KTK stayed in the fray for just one season before a controversy put them out of IPL. Kochi has a lot of fans of cricket and hence, there was a need to have a franchise there. However, since then, the state of Kerala has not had any IPL franchise.

Having done so much as a player, it was natural that he got an opportunity as a Head Coach. Hodge was the Head Coach of GL and PBKS.
