As per reports, Andy Flower might leave Lucknow Super Giants after the conclusion of his two-year contract. While he is already taken up a role with the Australian Cricket Team, it is not sure if he would be ready to coach a side in the IPL. If he does decide to take a different challenge in IPL, a few teams could be interested in him. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two franchises that can appoint Andy Flower as Head Coach if he leaves LSG.
1) Royal Challengers Bangalore
Sanjay Bangar did well for RCB as the Head Coach in IPL 2022. However, he failed to step up last season. Some of his decisions were also exactly not great. Even when it came to signing someone like Kedar Jadhav despite him having not played a lot of cricket, Bangar was a bit disappointing. RCB might need a better tactician for this role and might also need someone with a winning record. Flower is certainly that candidate and hence, the Bengaluru-based outfit could target the player.
2) Sunrisers Hyderabad
SRH is one of the franchises that can appoint Andy Flower as Head Coach if he leaves LSG. Brian Lara surprised everyone with some of his decisions in IPL 2023. Yes, there could have been an external influence but the dropping of Umran Malik and not utilising some of his players fully may not do well for his coaching career. That said, the franchise has a chance to start from scratch. They have a good base and if a coach like Flower comes onboard, he could do wonders with the franchise.
