Gujarat Titans have become the second team to be eliminated in IPL 2024 and completed all its matches in the league stage. GT, who made it to the finals in the 2022 and 2023 season, have failed to finish in the Top 4 this season.

The departure of Hardik Pandya and the absence of Mohammed Shami hurt the Titans a lot as they could not replicate their top performances from the 2022 and 2023 editions of the Indian Premier League. In fact, injury issues and poor form of some players forced Gujarat to use 23 players this season – the most by any team in the competition thus far.

GT had 25 players in their squad, and the following two players did not get a single match in the Gujarat jersey this year.

    1. Gujarat Titans all-rounder Jayant Yadav

It was a little surprising to note that the Titans tried out inexperienced spinner Manav Suthar for the away fixture against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2024, but they did not give an opportunity to veteran off-spin bowling all-rounder, Jayant Yadav.

Jayant has been with the squad for three seasons. He would receive opportunities to play when the conditions favored spin, especially in Lucknow. However, that did not happen in the 2024 season as Yadav only delivered messages from the coaches to players.

    2. Gurnoor Brar

Uncapped right-arm fast bowler Gurnoor Brar was with the Punjab Kings before. This year, he joined Gujarat as a net bowler and then ended up replacing Sushant Mishra in the main squad.

While Gujarat might have thought of giving Gurnoor a chance in their last two matches, both of them were abandoned. As a result, Brar could not make his IPL debut for the Titans.
