Gujarat Titans have quickly become one of the most popular franchises in the Indian Premier League. The Ahmedabad-based franchise made their debut in the year 2022 and won their maiden edition of the Indian Premier League by defeating inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals in the summit clash of the tournament.

GT surprised everyone by winning the competition because before the tournament started, very few fans gave them a chance of even qualifying for the playoffs. However, playing under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, the Gujarat Titans brought their ‘A’ game to the table and defeated almost every team in the tournament en route to their maiden championship win.

While the Titans have become a force to be reckoned with in the Indian Premier League, their team owners have not shown any interest in buying teams in foreign leagues. But a few other IPL team owners have franchises in other tournaments as well, and two of Gujarat Titans players will be seen playing for Mukesh Ambani-owned MI Cape Town team in SA20 League 2023.

    1. Gujarat Titans vice-captain Rashid Khan is captain of MI Cape Town

Rashid Khan made history in IPL 2022 as he became the first player from Afghanistan to captain an IPL franchise. When Hardik Pandya missed a league stage match against the Chennai Super Kings due to a niggle, Rashid stepped up and led the franchise to a memorable victory.

MI Cape Town seemed to be very impressed with his captaincy and bowling as they not only roped him in their team but also named them as their captain for the tournament.

    2. Odean Smith

One of the new signings made by the Gujarat Titans for the IPL 2023 season was West Indies all-rounder Odean Smith. The hard-hitting all-rounder will be seen playing for the MI Cape Town team in the SA20 league as well.
