Most of the teams have undergone changes since the 2019 ODI World Cup. However, two of the coaches during that edition are also getting a chance in the ongoing campaign. This is despite them not winning the trophy.

    1) Gary Stead

Recently, the contract of New Zealand Coach Gary Stead was extended. He was the coach of the side back in 2019. Since then, he has been in good form for the side, winning competitions such as the World Test Championship. However, it will be a firm challenge for him in the 2023 edition. There are injury issues for the main players while other teams have become better in recent months. Nevertheless, having reached the finals of the last two editions, the Kiwis will be desperate to win their first-ever ODI World Cup in 2023.

    2) Chandika Hathurusingha

Chandika Hathurusingha is one of the Head Coaches in the 2019 ODI WC who is also a Head Coach in the 2023 ODI World Cup. While he was the Head Coach of Sri Lanka in 2019, this time around, the 55-year-old former Sri Lankan cricketer is the Head Coach of Bangladesh. For Bangladesh, as well, it is not the first stint for him. He has already been challenged with some tough situations. Tamim Iqbal has had to be dropped and there are some other issues, as well. That said, this is a good chance for Bangladesh to upset a few nations ranked higher than them. It has to be the spin attack that must step up for the side.
